Generated MIDI routing
KiwiSynth can make its own notes: the arpeggiator, the motif generator and scripts all play patterns for you. Normally those notes come out of KiwiSynth's own sound. Generated MIDI routing sends them somewhere else, so the arp can play your piano, your bass or any other track, and you can freeze the result into notes you edit by hand.
Routing the pattern to another instrument
Open the KiwiSynth editor for the track running the arp or motif by clicking its instrument button. At the bottom of the editor is the Generated MIDI picker. Choose the track you want it to play, and that track's instrument sounds the pattern KiwiSynth generates.
Press play and the destination instrument performs the pattern. The KiwiSynth track is the brain, the other track is the sound. Pick Off to stop routing.
Routing a synth to itself is not allowed, because it would only retrigger its own generator.
Capturing it as editable notes
Switch on Capture to notes, next to the destination picker, and play the section. As the pattern runs, its notes are written into the destination track's pattern as real notes you can open and change: move them, delete one, re-voice a chord, nudge the timing.
That is how you freeze a generated pattern. Design an arp you like, capture it once, switch KiwiSynth's generator off, and carry on editing the captured notes like anything you played in yourself.
Capture only runs while you ask for it. It is not saved with the project, so pressing play again will not quietly re-record the same notes. Arm it, play through once, then switch it off.
If you hear nothing
Check that the destination track has an instrument loaded, and that you picked it rather than leaving the picker on Off. Captured notes land on the destination track, in the section that is playing.
