Stereo Widener

Controls how wide the sound feels across the stereo field, using mid and side processing.

Controls

Width. Turned all the way down the track is mono, both speakers carrying the same signal. Around the middle it sits at its natural stereo width. Turned up it spreads wider than the source itself, which sounds large but leaves the centre less solid.

Subtle, Wide, Mono.

When to use it

Widen pads and synths when the mix feels narrow. Narrow bass and kick to keep the low end centred, which is where it stays reliable on small speakers.
