The kiwibass menu

The menu behind the button at the top left. The Patch section is described in Patch. This page covers the rest.

Open session... and Save session...

A session is the patch and the pattern together: the sound, the line with every note you edited, the kick it was written against, the key, and whether the demo line or the pattern was playing. It also remembers which patch the sound came from, so the header names it again when the session opens.

Save session... writes one to a file you choose. Open session... replaces the current sound and line with the file's; if the patch has unsaved changes you are asked first. A file that is not a Kiwibass session is refused with a message rather than opened half.

Export MIDI...

Writes the pattern as a MIDI file, to load into the plugin's track in your host. The notes keep their timing, swing and nudges, accents become velocity, and overlapping notes stay overlapping so they tie in the plugin. The kick row is not written: it is what the line was written against, not part of it.

Export WAV...

Renders the current sound playing the current notes, the demo line or the pattern, and writes it as a WAV file. The render is made when you export, so it is what the patch sounds like at that moment.
