Shifts the pitch of the instrument up or down using grain-based pitch shifting with crossfade overlap. Great for octave effects, harmonies, or subtle detuning for a thicker sound.

How the settings work together
Shift sets the main pitch interval. Musical intervals (octave, fifth) blend naturally because they're harmonically related to the original. Non-musical intervals (1–2 semitones) create dissonance that can sound eerie or metallic — useful as a creative effect but less natural.
Fine adds cent-level detuning on top of the Shift value. With Shift at 0 and Fine at a few cents, you get a doubling effect — two slightly out-of-tune copies of the same note that thicken the sound. This is similar to chorus but without the modulation wobble, so it stays static and consistent.
Mix determines whether you hear the pitch-shifted signal alongside the original or replacing it. At 50% mix, both are equally loud — this is where octave and fifth intervals sound like two-part harmony. At 100% mix, you only hear the shifted signal with no original, which is a pure pitch transposition. For subtle thickening with Fine detune, lower mix (30–40%) blends the doubled signal behind the original without making it sound obviously processed.
When to use it
Use Octave Up or Down to double a bass line or add a sub layer. Fifth Up creates a power-chord effect on guitar and synth leads. Detune at half mix gives a chorus-like thickening without the modulation wobble.
