How the settings work together

Rate + Depth define the sweep. Rate sets how fast the phaser moves through its cycle, and Depth sets how wide that sweep is. Slow rate with deep depth creates a dramatic, slow swoosh — the classic "jet plane" effect. Fast rate with shallow depth adds a subtle shimmer and animation without an obvious sweep. Fast rate with deep depth can sound seasick on sustained sounds, so use that combination carefully.

Mix controls how much the phaser's comb-filtering cancellation is audible. At low mix, you hear a subtle thinning and movement. At high mix, the characteristic notches in the frequency spectrum become more pronounced — you hear distinct peaks and dips sweeping through the sound. 50% mix is a good starting point; go higher for dramatic effect, lower for a background texture.

Electric piano, guitar, and synth pads. Creates a classic "swooshing" motion.
